Since the spring the Roc has had music therapy on Tuesday afternoons at an autism center near my parents house. It was the perfect excuse to invite ourselves over for dinner afterwards. For months now the Roc and I would head to my parents house after therapy, he would do his homework or play outside, and then we would have dinner with my parents. It’s been fun having a scheduled time that he could see them every week, and I enjoy not having to think about what to make for dinner every Tuesday (and seeing my parents of course!) The Roc’s schedule will be changing soon, we are putting music therapy on hold for some in-home help twice a week. It will be sad to give up our Tuesday dinners with my parents.
Being near my parents has been one of the best things to come out of us leaving Delaware. They like to see the Roc, he likes to spend time with them, and they even take him for overnights so GC and I can get a break.
Last Monday was my mom’s birthday and the Roc helped me wrap her gifts and made her a card. Then he asked if we were going to have a party. I told him we could bring her presents and a cake after music, and maybe Daddy could meet us at their house for dinner. That was enough for him to call it a party!
Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you!
